Dr. Allison Zaum, OD, MPH
Dr. Allison Zaum is known by her patients to have a caring and thorough approach to eye care. She is a native New Yorker, but is a long-time resident of the SF Peninsula. Dr. Zaum graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 1998. In addition, she has a Masters Degree in Public Health, also from UC Berkeley. Her undergraduate degree in Biology is from Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass. Her optometry school training included internships at La Clinica de la Raza in Oakland, and the Veterans' Adminsitration hosptials in both San Francisco and Palo Alto. She also trained in specialty clinics at the School of Optometry, including the Low Vision, Infant and Toddler, Binocular Vision, and Contact Lens Clinics. Prior to opening Pacific Eye Care Optometry, Dr. Zaum worked in private practices throughtout the Bay Area, most recently in Redwood City. Before becoming an optometrist, Dr. Zaum was an occupational health and safety professional. She retains a special interest in work-related vision issues, and has particular expertise in identifying and resolving computer-related eye and visual problems. The office also can provide laser safety exams. Dr. Zaum lives on the Peninsula with her husband and son. is an active member of the American Optometric Society and the City of Mountain View Chamber of Commerce.
